Kristiina Vuorensivu, MA, RCC

Part-time Instructor of Media and Communication
I enjoy bringing experiential opportunities to the classroom and watching students grow in self-awareness to create positive ripple effects in their spheres of influence. Leadership is not always in big initiatives, but often in small shifts that multiply goodness within our close relationships, workplaces and communities.

Kristiina brings her experience working on college campuses and a diverse career background to her role as a part time instructor with TWU. Kristiina has taught at Pacific Life Bible College, PLBC, worked on the Student Development team at Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford, and lived on campus as a Resident Advisor at BCIT, Burnaby. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, she has over twenty years therapeutic experience, family conflict mediation and social services management in Greater Vancouver. She also has an education in Broadcast Journalism from BCIT and brings her background in Radio Journalism and Film Production to her teaching. Kristiina worked in news radio production in Vancouver and as a freelance journalist working for Reuters, Canada News Wire, and Disney to name a few. Listening, clear communication in all formats, and de-escalation are key foundations for all the ways Kristiina is a peace-maker. She has been actively working and volunteering over the years educating on communication, and relational and mental health for individuals, couples and church communities. She brings a genuine care for the complexity and uniqueness of every individual. She helps people understand themselves better, strive to relate in healthy God-honouring ways, and generally to walk out their lives, being the healthiest versions of themselves they can be. Her hope is to help people to be positive influencers bringing peace wherever they find themselves. Kristiina enjoys a good coffee, the outdoors, fun family times of connecting, and Gulf island weekend getaways whenever she can.
