Linguistics & Translation (MA)

Prepare for global ministry through linguistics, biblical interpretation, and culturally relevant translation.

Bridge language and theology to bring Scripture and literacy to communities worldwide.

The MA in Linguistics and Translation (MALT) equips students for transformative work in Bible translation, literacy development, and cross-cultural ministry. Combining theological training and scientific linguistic analysis, the program prepares graduates to engage communities with clarity, compassion, and cultural sensitivity. Students learn to document and describe languages, produce literacy materials, and translate Scripture for populations without access to biblical texts in their heart language. With instruction from experienced field practitioners, the program fosters scholar-practitioners ready to serve in missions, translation agencies, and academic settings. Whether pursuing ministry or further study, MALT graduates are empowered to make a global impact through language and faith.
