Christmas choral celebrations

Join the Choirs of TWU's School of the Arts, Media and Culture for two much-anticipated concerts this Christmas season:  Christmas at the Chan in Vancouver, and In Dulci Jubilo in Richmond. Conducted by Caron Daley, each concert will offer a spectacular musical celebration of the birth of Christ.

This year’s Christmas at the Chan program features works by Finzi, Jenkins, Willan, Willcocks, Wilberg, Tavener, and a premiere setting of the Magnificat text by David Squires. With over 200 voices, full orchestra, and guest soloists Chad Louwerse (bass) and Alison Nystrom (soprano), you will delight in this splendid holiday tradition. Tickets go on sale Oct. 1 at noon. Book yours well in advance—this event always sells out early! Once tickets have sold out, patrons may get on a limited waiting list by emailing samc.tickets@twu.ca with a name and the number requested.

In the week leading up to Christmas at the Chan, the SAMC Choirs will perform In Ducli Jubilo at Richmond Pentecostal Church.  Featuring soprano Alison Nystrom, organist Edward Norman, and pianist Suzanne Klukas, this exciting new event will include choral highlights of this year's Christmas repertoire.  Usher in the season with an intimate performance of the music of Jenkins, Willan, Willcocks, Wilberg, Tavener, and a premiere setting of the Magnificat text by David Squires. All seats are $15 and tickets will go on sale Oct. 15, available through the SAMC website.
