Grad Angela Mitchell stages new adaptation of her own play

While a student at TWU, Angela Mitchell wrote a children's play called The Midgkins. She enticed several of her theatre friends to be in the show which she produced and directed, performing it for elementary school audiences.

Now, Angela is an elementary teacher herself at Langley's Blacklock Fine Arts School. When she was looking for a project to do with her students, Theatre Department Chair, Angela Konrad suggested she revisit The Midgkins. Angela took her advice, working with a dance colleague to adapt the play to a large cast of grade four and five students. The result was a delightful production which blended the original story with new characters, a stirring musical score, and inventive dance numbers.
