Red Dress Vigil at TWU honours missing and murdered Indigenous peoples

At Trinity Western, we seek to hear, understand and acknowledge our shared history with Indigenous peoples and the impact that it continues to have throughout the generations.

On February 14 and 16, at 12 p.m., TWU hosts a Red Dress Vigil — a ceremony to honour missing and murdered Indigenous people, and to raise awareness to the human crisis of the high and disproportionate rates of violence and numbers of missing and murdered Indigenous people in Canada.

The event will be led by Patti Victor, University Siyá:m and Chair of TWU’s Indigenous Partnership Council.

As a global Christian university, TWU continues to foster greater knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures, worldview, and history among students, staff, and faculty. We do this by providing educational opportunities, engaging in community partnerships, and through caring for and supporting Indigenous students.
