TWU Invites Students into New Multi-Access Campus Experience

Langley, B.C. — Trinity Western University adapts its signature student experience for a Multi-Access format. Ahead of the fall semester, TWU invites new and returning students into classes, athletics, community life and leadership opportunities that are fully accessible online, offline and throughout various time zones around the world.

On a bright June evening, Vice President of Enrolment Brian Kerr hosts the latest TWU event, this time, in the newly-renovated Trinity Commons (formerly known as The Atrium). Around him are lights and cameras, but fewer people in the room than usual.

To accommodate B.C.'s current health and safety measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, TWU has designed its Town Hall event to be accessible wherever students may be — along with redesigning the entire TWU student experience.

Ahead of the fall semester, TWU is ensuring that students can access their extraordinary TWU experience while enjoying proper health safeguards. As such, every aspect of TWU life — including learning, community, student ministries and leadership opportunities — are being re-wired for a new Multi-Access format.

Multi-Access ensures that students can access their TWU education and signature student experience wherever they are, and prepares students for a seamless return to campus as soon as it is safe to do so.

In live and interactive Town Halls on June 17 and 18, university leaders including President Mark Husbands and representatives from TWU faculty, Student Life and TWU Student Association (TWUSA), spoke of their excitement to welcome students this fall. As well, Dr. Sonya Grypma PhD, RN, head of TWU COVID-19 Health and Safety task force, explained all the detailed health and safety measures that are being applied on campus.

Introducing the new The Journey Forward grant

To help further reduce barriers to education, TWU announced its new The Journey Forward grant, which provides up to $2000 for every eligible full-time undergraduate student who is studying at TWU in the upcoming fall and spring semesters. This new financial opportunity is being offered in addition to many existing financial grants and resources for TWU students.

During the Town Halls, TWU representatives answered many questions online and on-camera, covering topics such as tuition, housing, athletics, theatre, arts, science labs and more. Over 1000 participants from around the world joined in on the June 17 and 18 events.

TWU welcomes interested students to check the university's COVID-19 response page for more information and upcoming events, or to contact admissions@twu.ca.
