TWU strengthens Alumni representation on the Board of Governors, amplifying alumni voices

Alumni voices represented on the Board of Governors is a valuable and positive part of effective Board decision-making. Accordingly, President Husbands has charged TWU Alumni and Families to invite nominations to serve on a forthcoming Alumni Board of Ambassadors.

With the formation of the new TWU Alumni and Families Department, President Husbands and the Board of Governors welcomes greater participation from the alumni community.

“Our beloved Alumni community is a key priority for the Board, and we are encouraged by the increased prioritization of alumni relations within the University,” said Matthew St. John, Chair of the Governance Committee.

He continues, “The formation of the new TWU Alumni and Families Department, which will develop and steward TWU’s alumni strategy, is an exciting new chapter in the life of the University. I am confident that this new direction will serve the alumni community well.”

Alumni voices represented on the Board of Governors is a valuable and positive part of effective Board decision-making. Accordingly, President Husbands has charged TWU Alumni and Families to invite nominations to serve on a forthcoming Alumni Board of Ambassadors.

Clement Wee, alumni and newly appointed Vice President of TWU Alumni and Families, looks forward to greater partnership with the University’s 30,000-strong alumni community, by leveraging this new approach for amplifying alumni contribution at the Board level.

For the past number of years there has been an invaluable alumni seat at the Board of Governors,” Wee said. “That will continue—and, in fact, be expanded—by providing an opportunity for a broader representation of alumni voices to be heard.”

Representation on the Board of Governors will be selected from the Alumni Board of Ambassadors to ensure the voice of alumni at the University’s highest leadership and governance table. The appointed Alumni Board of Ambassadors will work closely with TWU Alumni and Families to encourage lifelong relations with present and future alumni.

TWU is deeply committed to helping alumni to develop a deep love for the institution that has played a positive and transformational role in their lives. We do this by helping alumni celebrate memories, contribute valuable perspectives, and support the University in its continued growth and development. The flourishing of the University enhances the value of a TWU degree, a distinction which graduates have worked so hard to achieve.
