It's a race against the clock for a bold and inventive group of Trinity Western University students. This weekend they display raw creativity under extraordinary pressure in an artistic challenge known as 24-Hour Theatre.

Accelerated creations
Beginning Friday evening and culminating in performances Saturday night, this creative sprint challenges participants to conceptualize, write, direct, rehearse, and perform original works—all within a single rotation of the earth.
24-Hour Theatre is an artistic event that students Sarah Grace Wiedenheft and Cath de la Rambelje are coordinating. It's a testament to how TWU's School of the Arts, Media + Culture fosters immersive learning experiences that go beyond traditional classroom boundaries.
"This event gives students a creative outlet and allows anyone who has taken a TWU SAMC class to apply what they have learned in a performance context."
Art forms converge
Alex Walker, alumnus and current graduate student at TWU, highlights how 24-Hour Theatre amalgamates diverse art forms and skill sets. This student-led event embodies the interdisciplinary spirit of TWU's education.
"This event gives students a creative outlet and allows anyone who has taken a SAMC class to apply what they have learned in a performance context," he remarks.

All are welcome
The organizers add that all graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to sign up to write, direct, act, or work behind the scenes, no matter their level of theatre experience.
The team is anticipating that four short plays will be featured on the night of Saturday, Mar. 15. Their themes are yet to be revealed because the entire creation process takes place within 24 hours. Audiences can look forward to being surprised and delighted.
