Health Services

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle can be tough to do while juggling all the demands of university life.

The Physicians and Registered Nurses in the Wellness Centre are here to address your immediate needs, such as illness, chronic disease management, or injury, as well as larger wellbeing concerns like sexual and mental health. Meet our team here.

About Our Services

In-person health services are available to all current TWU students – we can be your “family doctor” while you’re studying here. For TWU employees our staff can offer urgent or intermittent care but we cannot be your primary care provider.

Every Canadian resident is legally required to have provincial medical insurance – this entitles you to be treated at the Wellness Centre as well as any other clinic, hospital, or lab free of charge for most services.

Medical Insurance Information

Some medical services such as physicals for non-medical reasons are not covered by provincial health insurance (ex. sports, work requirements, or outreach trips). See fees below:

Doctor’s Office Visit $50
Physical Exam $95

Yes, you do! The process to access provincial medical insurance takes time, during which you are not covered by the program. This means you will be charged in full for any medical care you access in the interim. TWU has partnered with GuardMe to offer international students high quality, affordable medical insurance to bridge this gap.
