Everyone’s Degree Completion Plan Is Unique.

A Bachelor of Arts degree consists of 122 semester hours (sh). Depending on which major you choose, the number of credits we can transfer will vary.

Some students have an Associate of Arts (AA) degree or equivalent (e.g., diploma) of 60 sh. Some have fewer than 60 sh going in; others, more. In some cases you’ll be able to transfer in a maximum of 75 sh. Regardless of your situation, we’ll do our best to help you get the most out of your degree completion.

No matter what program you choose, our advisors will work with you to develop a customized learning plan. And our Prior Learning and Recognition (PLAR) will help you translate informal and non-traditional learning into recognized university credit. The best way to get on track is talk to us. You can count on us to help you weigh your options.

Interested in Leadership?

Generally, out of the 122 semester hours that make up our BAs, about one-third of it is devoted to liberal arts, one-third to your major, and one-third to electives.

Our BA in Leadership is unique because it allows you to transfer up to 75 sh in from your previous studies. If you do this, you’ll have to complete as few as 47 sh to earn your degree—and you can do that in as little as 18 months. What’s more, if you have previous TWU credits, you may need only a minimum of 42 sh, depending on your course distribution.
