Description

Abstract algebra including group, field, and ring theory; algebraic systems, polynomial theory and additional topics in modern and abstract algebra as time permits.

Prerequisite(s)

MATH 150 and 250, third year standing or better (a 300 level Mathematics course such as 323, 340, 370 or 390 is recommended), and a very good understanding of mathematical proof techniques, or instructor’s consent. (3-0 or 3-0)
