Congratulations to Dr. Barbara Astle, named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing

The Canadian Academy of Nursing Fellowship Program recognizes and celebrates the most accomplished nurses in Canada and across all domains of nursing practice. This year, Dr. Barbara Astle is among 18 remarkable nurses to be inducted into the Canadian Academy of Nursing Fellowship Program.

In a letter to the 2022 Fellows, Dr. Sylvain Brousseau, president of the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), expressed, "the CNA established the Canadian Academy of Nursing in the fall of 2019 to identify, educate, support, and celebrate nursing leaders across all the regulated categories and domains of practice. One of the ways we celebrate the amazing contributions of nurses is through the Academy’s Fellowship program, which is designed to recognize and celebrate highly accomplished nurses in Canada."

Honouring the best of the nursing profession, academy Fellows earn the right to use the credential Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing (FCAN).

On behalf of Trinity Western University, we warmly congratulate Dr. Barbara Astle!

"I passionately believe in the importance of working alongside my students, colleagues, and partners, in order that we learn together, evolve, and move forward in achieving health equity in global health and the emerging field of Planetary Health. I think it is imperative that we have a shared understanding of the indispensable interconnectedness of human health to the health of the planet."
