Biography

What was your first job after university?

Landscaping and lawn care for a small company on Vancouver Island.

What is one of your most memorable experiential learning opportunities?

Building out a public transportation network to provide rural Nova Scotians with access to basic medical services. It was such rich opportunity to see our work make a tangible difference within the surrounding communities.

What is a new competency you are working towards?

The art of being concise. It doesn’t come naturally so I’m working at listening and gathering information well and explaining it in a brief but comprehensive way.

What career advice has been the most helpful for you?

Listen to understand, rather than to respond. You might think you are the expert at something, but there will always be others who you can learn from.
