Like you, we would love for your guests to attend your graduation in person. Therefore, to ensure that every graduand has the opportunity to have at least two guests attend their graduation ceremony, each graduand is initially allocated a maximum of two guest tickets. Once registration has been closed and everyone who wishes to attend graduation has had an opportunity to reserve their spot and at least two additional tickets, we will then determine the remaining available seating capacity. At that point, there is a high likelihood that additional tickets will become available for any other guests you may have. Approximately two weeks prior to graduation, registered graduands will then receive instructions on how to secure these additional tickets.

Please remind your attending guests that in order to enter, they must present their tickets to be scanned at the door. We also encourage you to extend your celebrations to family and friends by inviting them to watch the graduation ceremony video, which will be posted online a few days after the event.

Verbal abuse towards the Graduation Planning Committee will not be tolerated and may result in you not receiving additional tickets to the ceremony.

Seating for our graduation ceremonies is general admission and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that graduand and faculty seating are reserved for the front of the venue.

Regrettably, for efficient planning purposes, it is necessary for all graduands to register for the graduation ceremony in advance. If you wish to defer to the next graduation ceremony, kindly submit a ticket to our service desk.

Graduands who missed the registration deadline will be placed on a waitlist. The Graduation Planning Committee will do what they can to get students off the waitlist and into the ceremony, but this is not guaranteed. We encourage those who missed the registration deadline to apply for the Fall 2025 Graduation Ceremony.

Artona will be offering two photo opportunities. They will take a photo of you prior to crossing the stage and then again on the stage with the president of the University.

No, you do not, but we encourage you and your family and friends to celebrate your accomplishments by watching the graduation ceremony video that will be posted online a few days after.

Yes, each guest, including children and infants, is required to have a ticket. The ticketing system is designed to ensure everyone’s safety. Fire Regulations dictate the maximum number of people who may occupy the room at one time.

Please note that there is no child-minding service provided at this event. Children under the age of six may become restless or noisy due to the length of the ceremony, this may be a distraction to other guests. Thank you for your co-operation to keep this in mind as you plan.

Yes, your tickets will display the guest's name. Each ticket will have individual and unique scan code, so please ensure each of your guests receives a ticket.

Ceremony

A graduand is an individual that is eligible to graduate but has not yet graduated. Once your degree has been presented, you become a graduate.

Graduands are required to check in to student holding 90 minutes prior to the graduation ceremony. Any late arrivals will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. The location of student holding will be emailed to graduands prior to the graduation ceremony. Guests of graduands are not allowed in student holding. Please direct them to the ceremony location.

We encourage you to invite additional friends and family to celebrate your accomplishments by watching the graduation ceremony video that will be posted online a few days after. Please note that guests attending the graduation ceremony are each required to have a ticket to attend.

Complimentary Parking is available throughout the graduation ceremony venue.

There will be an unattended coat check for students only. Bags and purses should not be checked, so please plan accordingly, and leave your valuables at home or with your guests.

This always depends on the number of graduands graduating. We do aim for each ceremony to run approximately 75 to 90 minutes long.

Regalia & Clothing Attire

You will be required to rent regalia from TWU's official regalia supplier, Gaspard, in order to participate in the processional and sit with the other graduands. The cost of renting regalia is the responsibility of the graduand. We encourage you to rent regalia at the same time that you register for the ceremony. However, regalia rental on the day of graduation is also an option.

The Regalia pickUP is an event where graduands can collect their regalia early. It's an opportunity to meet your alumni team, mingle with other graduands, enjoy a delicious meal, and receive complimentary goodies. More details about this event will be available closer to graduation.

Regalia cannot be collected by friends or family on your behalf—you must be present to pick it up.

Graduands unable to pick up their regalia during the Regalia PickUP hours will be able to pick up their regalia 60 minutes prior to their graduation ceremony.

Please dress business casual. Sturdy footwear is recommended as graduands will be required to be standing for a long period of time. For our master’s students only; please note that your regalia does not have sleeves; plain dress shirts/blouses with full sleeves is preferred.

A return mailing label is included with your rental. An additional shipping fee is applied.

You must return your gown and hood to our Regalia Return station after your ceremony. Please return your regalia no later than one hour after your ceremony.
