Nursing in Global Contexts
Description
Focuses on the application of planetary and global health concepts such as sustainability, capacity building, global burden of disease and social/ecological/structural determinants of health in a global health context. Promotes self-reflection, cultural humility, leadership development, and intersectoral communication and collaboration. Explores the historical, economic, political, religious, and geographical contexts, and their influence on the host community’s local healthcare systems and health of individuals and populations. Collaboratively examines specific health challenges of the host community and existing community development projects.
