Local Outreach

Your time at TWU is a chance to create a lasting impact—use your talents to uplift others and give back to the community.

Local Outreach provides volunteer opportunities throughout the Lower Mainland to serve and learn alongside trusted organizations. We have teams that serve with kids, youth, refugees, and people experiencing homelessness.

Volunteering provides valuable opportunities to give back to your local community by serving and learning alongside trusted, established organizations. By joining a Local Outreach team, you'll build deep connections and friendships while developing teamwork, networking, leadership, time management, and communication skills. Additionally, volunteering allows you to use your time and skills to support others while gaining practical experience that can enhance your resume.

The time commitment involves each team meeting once a week for training, equipping, and participating in a service-learning opportunity. Although each team is different, you can expect to dedicate approximately 3-4 hours per week. Teams usually operate from September to April, and you are expected to commit for an entire semester at a time.
