Local Outreach

Your time at TWU is a unique opportunity to be transformed by Jesus and become His witness—on campus, in our community, and beyond.

Local Outreach is a missional discipleship program that equips teams of students to partner with trusted Christian organizations throughout the Lower Mainland in volunteer service. Together, we serve, learn, and grow—bearing witness to Jesus through our actions, words, and presence.

As part of Local Outreach, you’ll join a team that serves weekly with communities such as children, youth, refugees, and individuals experiencing homelessness. These partnerships are not just about volunteering—they are about long-term transformation, mutual learning, and living out the Gospel in tangible ways. Through regular team meetings, check-ins, and monthly gatherings, you’ll be discipled and equipped to lead a life that reflects Jesus. You’ll develop practical skills like leadership, communication, and time management, while also deepening your faith and building lasting friendships.

Each team commits approximately 3–4 hours per week from September to April, including training and service. We ask that you commit for at least one semester at a time. And even if you can't commit to a weekly team, we'd love to have you at our annual Day of Service which is a great way to spend a Saturday serving our community.

Let’s be transformed by Jesus into His witnesses—together.

Day of Service

Each year, Day of Service invites Trinity Western students to serve across the Lower Mainland—partnering with families, churches, and organizations for one Saturday morning to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our neighbourhoods and communities.
