Outreach exists to give students opportunities to step out of our campuses to partner with Christian organizations in our communities and around the world.

Through local volunteer teams, Service Days, and global service-learning trips, students are invited to learn, serve together, and grow in Christ—reflecting Jesus in both word and action wherever we go.

What is Outreach?

Students at Trinity Western University have been serving with communities locally and globally for decades. For over 30 years, our Global Fort Babine team has partnered with the Wit’at First Nation in Northern B.C.—living in community, learning from Elders, and serving together as invited. Closer to home, our Local Youth Extreme team has partnered with a church in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside for over 20 years. Students go each week to create a safe and welcoming space where youth can have fun, build mentoring relationships, and encounter the love of Jesus in meaningful ways. These are just two of the many teams students can join.

On an Outreach team, students will:

  • Serve alongside Christian organizations locally and globally
  • Learn from our partners and the global Church
  • Grow through intentional prayer, preparation, and reflection
  • Practice humility and sharing Christ’s love in real-world contexts

Whether in the Lower Mainland or around the world, Outreach helps students discover what it looks like to live as witnesses of Christ in everyday life.

How You Can Get Involved

Outreach offers three primary ways for students to participate:

Service Days 

Serve local families, churches, and community organizations alongside other TWU students through one-time service opportunities that put faith into action and make a meaningful impact in the community.

With no long-term commitment required, Service Days are offered throughout the school year, giving students the opportunity to serve, pray, and grow together as they follow Jesus in their local communities.

Local Outreach Teams

We invite students to join a weekly team serving consistently in our surrounding communities. Teams partner with Christian organizations throughout the Lower Mainland and are built around both service and intentional equipping.

Students serve together, pray together, and reflect together—learning how to faithfully follow Jesus in our own neighbourhoods. Applications open throughout the school year, and teams typically serve Thursday and Friday evenings.

Global Outreach Trips

Participate in a cross-cultural service-learning trip lasting one week to one month, partnering with the global Church through service, learning, and meaningful relationships while discovering how God is at work around the world.

These non-credit trips focus on mutual growth, discipleship, and global engagement. Applications open in September, with trips typically taking place in February and May.

Our Purpose

To be transformed by God into lifelong witnesses of Christ’s reconciliation—at TWU, in our communities, and around the world.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
