TWU Professors Sheryl Reimer-Kirkham and Richard Sawatzky selected to join inaugural class of Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Nursing

Trinity Western University is pleased to announce that faculty members Sheryl Reimer-Kirkham and Richard (Rick) Sawatzky have been offered induction into the inaugural class of Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Nursing (CNA).

Dr. Sheryl Reimer-Kirkham is Dean and Professor of the School of Nursing. Dr. Richard (Rick) Sawatzky is Professor of the School of Nursing and the Canada Research Chair in Person-Centred Outcomes.

The CNA Fellowship program recognizes and celebrates the most accomplished nurses in Canada. Becoming a Fellow represents the highest honour for Canada’s nursing leaders in clinical practice, education, administration, research and policy.

To become a Fellow, candidates had to complete a detailed application and receive two nominations.

Successful application to the Fellowship is based on sustained and outstanding contributions to the advancement of the nursing profession.

CNA president Tim Guest affirmed that every Fellow has “displayed outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing the nursing profession in Canada and globally.”

The virtual induction ceremony will be held in November 2020. Please visit the CNA-AIIC website for details when they become available.

A warm congratulations to Dr. Sheryl Reimer-Kirkham and Dr. Richard (Rick) Sawatzky!
