Eileen completed her Master of Applied Linguistics and Exegesis (2004) at Trinity Western University. Since then she has taught linguistics courses at TWU for both the Canada Institute of Linguistics and the MATESOL program, focusing on sociocultural issues of language usage. She has been teaching English for Academic Purposes at TWU's affiliate ESLI since 2008 and has recently become involved with settlement English. Before beginning her graduate studies, Eileen spent 10 years in Hong Kong living and serving among the poor. In 2014 and 2015, she led TWU Global Project teams to Vietnam for three weeks of volunteer language teaching and cultural exchange.
