Registration Process
The Centre for Accessible Learning is the central contact point for students with a disability at TWU. The Centre also works with students at post-secondary institutions directly affiliated with TWU who are taking TWU courses.
Students with a disability who would like guidance in creating a Learning Support Plan, wish to determine their eligibility for academic accommodations, or are requesting disability-related provincial/federal supports, can follow this process to register with the Centre:
- Locate current documentation of your disability from a provider who is qualified to diagnose the disability.
- Reflect on your approaches to learning and the academic impacts of your disability, and submit this information and documentation of your disability through the Centre for Accessible Learning Summary of Learning Approaches & Academic Impacts form.
- After receiving your information, our office will arrange meetings to review current learning strategies, discuss academic impacts, and together develop and implement a Learning Support Plan.
- Post-secondary students who are Canadian residents can determine if they are eligible for disability-specific provincial or federal supports.
We strongly encourage students to start the registration process once they have confirmed their enrolment at TWU, months in advance of their first semester. Student registrations with the Centre for Accessible Learning occur throughout the summer prior to the start of the academic year each September. The beginning of May is the recommended time to begin this process.
