International Women’s Day 2026 at TWU

Panels, partnerships, and campus‑wide initiatives honoured women’s voices and experiences across TWU.

This year, Trinity Western University celebrated International Women’s Day with a range of events and collaborations across our campuses. Richmond and Langley campuses hosted informative and inspiring panels led by the Wellness Centre, exploring the multifaceted aspects of women’s health. These sessions sparked dialogue and offered valuable advice to students and employees alike.

The Office of Inclusive Excellence’s partnership with Union Gospel Mission’s Cedar Haven Women’s Recovery was a huge success. We collected and delivered several bins of donations to their site, and a group of interested students got to tour the facility to learn more about the impactful work happening there. We had the privilege having the manager take us on the tour, giving us the opportunity to interact with staff and seeing firsthand the intentional support provided to participants of their program.

In Ottawa, the Laurentian Leadership Centre collaborated with alumni and community members to host an exciting event centred on redefining success for women. The panel, featuring women with diverse careers and life experiences, was deeply engaging, and both the panelists and the audience were visibly impacted by the discussions. Many remarked on how enriching the evening was, with lively conversations that created a tangible atmosphere of reflection and inspiration.

With a focus on the theme “Give to Gain,” the Gender Café had four TWU alumnae discuss the hidden costs of giving and the disproportionate impact it has on women, particularly women of colour. The dialogue was praised for its passion and candor.

The Centre for Calling Career and Development also partnered with Dress for Success in Vancouver, taking six international graduate students to a morning of activities designed to equip them towards their career goals while also offering mentoring opportunities. While there, the students had the opportunity to volunteer behind the scenes, gaining insights into the organization’s work. Feedback from students was incredibly positive, with many expressing how they felt supported and blessed by the experience.

The Graduate Student Association’s celebration of International Women’s Day in the Global Lounge was another highlight; it was a privilege to see students light up as they were given encouragement and reminded of their worth, as well as how the Lord sees them.

Many departments and areas across campus worked together to support these initiatives, from the library and the Wellness Centre to various faculties and professors. Without the creativity and dedication of so many in the TWU community, we would not have been able to have offered such diverse and meaningful opportunities to celebrate and honour International Women’s Day.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this impactful time!
