Tuition & Fees

How TWU Determines Your Tuition & Fees

At TWU, your citizenship status determines whether you’ll pay domestic or international tuition fees. Students with Canadian citizenship, Permanent Resident status, or Canadian Protected Persons and Convention Refugees pay domestic tuition. All others will pay the international tuition rate.

Fee Information

TWUSA ($75 per semester, not including Summer)

The Trinity Western University Student Association (TWUSA) is the undergraduate student-elected association, and exists for three core reasons: Hospitality, Services, and Advocacy.  The Vice President of Academic Relations represents students with a voting position on the University Senate. Each faculty and school has its own TWUSA representative. TWUSA’s services include free printing, coffee, tea, hot-chocolate, equipment use, and bicycle rentals. It also covers the cost of the production of Trinity’s biweekly student newspaper, Mars’ Hill, and the annual Pillar Yearbook. TWUSA hosts over a dozen campus-wide events, as well as school and faculty-specific events and sets aside a portion of the Student Association Fee in order to fund student-originated campus initiatives.

TWUGSA ($3 per semester hour)

The Trinity Western University Graduate Student Association (TWUGSA) is the graduate studies student-elected association. Their main focus is to serve the graduate student body by providing representation and involvement with Trinity Western University's administrative committees, including the University Senate. TWUGSA wishes to enhance and support the individual graduate student experience at Trinity Western University, with representation on each campus of TWU and planned events throughout the year.

This fee applies to all Trinity Western University students and, although it does not fully cover the costs, it does support the following services:

  • Technological upgrades that will benefit all students.
  • Student Life services such as the Wellness Centre and Student Life programs including Chapel, Global Engagement, local outreach, and discipleship.
  • Academic support and facilities for the Learning Commons and support for programs available to international, resident, and commuter students.
  • Recreational services such as the bouldering wall, maintenance of recreational fields, tennis courts, annual recreational equipment, fitness centre equipment, as well as the Fitness & Group Fit Centre.

All new international students studying at Trinity Western University will be automatically enrolled in the Guard.Me Canada health insurance plan for 3 months. This plan is mandatory for all new international students studying in Canada and is a condition of studying at TWU. The coverage period is based on the program start date.

Some new international students are excluded from automatic enrollment in Guard.Me health insurance:

  • Permanent Residents of Canada
  • Students enrolled in Casual Studies
  • Protected Persons (i.e., students with refugee status)

The interim medical charge is a onetime, non-refundable fee of $160 and will be charged to the student account. Students can apply to opt-out of this charge only if they have valid MSP coverage for the entire 3-month period.  There is a deadline to apply to opt-out.

For more detailed information and opt-out deadlines please visit the TWU Guard.Me. website.
