Scholarships & Aid
Funding for students enrolled in the MA Leadership or MA Educational Leadership is available in a combination of merit and need-based awards. Awards are payable over two semesters. To be eligible, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and continuous enrolment in a minimum of 3 credits per semester.
Graduates from the following programs who are pursuing an MA Leadership or MA Educational Leadership degree are eligible for one entrance scholarship:
TWU Degree Completion Graduates ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for all MA LEAD streams
TWU Graduates of a Bachelor’s Degree Program ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents
Columbia Bible College Graduates ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for all MA LEAD streams
*Members of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for MAEL and Education streams
*Members of the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA) ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for MAEL and Education streams
*Members of the Society of Christian Schools in BC (SCSBC) ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for MAEL and Education streams
*Power to Change Employees ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for all MA LEAD streams
Summit Pacific College Graduates ($3,000)
Eligibility: Available for all MA LEAD streams

To apply for an entrance scholarship, complete the application form and send it to the Financial Aid Office at awards@twu.ca.
Endowment awards are established by donors of the university and are based on a variety of criteria including financial need, academic program, and many other student characteristics. See full listing of the endowment awards.
Don & Annabelle Page Scholarship ($1,000)
Scholarship criteria:
- Must have successfully completed 12 semester hours of the MA Leadership degree program with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
- Demonstrated financial need
CP Rail Aboriginal Scholarship ($500)
Scholarship criteria:
- Available to an Aboriginal student enrolled in the MA Leadership degree program
- Demonstrated financial need
King Chi Tong Memorial Scholarship ($500)
Scholarship criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled in the second year of the MA Leadership degree program
- Demonstrated financial need

Complete both TWU Financial Need Assessment & Endowment Award Application. The application deadline is June 1 for studies beginning in the Summer or Fall semesters.
MA Educational Leadership (MAEL) Program Scholarship ($3,000)
Students enrolling in the MAEL program with Canadian citizenship/permanent residency and a valid Canadian teaching certificate are eligible for a $3,000 entrance scholarship. Payable over four semesters if combined with another entrance scholarship listed above.
MA Leadership Grant
The MA Leadership Grant is awarded on the basis of financial need. Funding for this grant is limited and typically more applications are received than the number of awards available. Applications from Canadian citizens/permanent residents are given priority for the grant.
Apply: Complete the TWU Financial Need Assessment by June 1, for studies beginning in the Summer or Fall semesters. New students beginning their studies in January, please contact the Financial Aid & Awards office at awards@twu.ca.
Teaching Assistantships (TA)
A limited number of graduate teaching assistantships are available to second year (or recently graduated) students with a minimum GPA of 3.5. TA stipends are typically for 30-40 hours per course assigned.
When available, students can apply by visiting our online job board and selecting the “Teaching Assistant (on-call)" position.
Student Loans
Canadian citizens/permanent residents enrolled in the full-time track of MA Leadership may be eligible for financial assistance through government funded loans and grants. Please contact the Financial Aid & Award Office for further information on how to apply.
Student lines of credit offered through financial institutions may also be available for students as an option for financial assistance.
