Frequently Asked Questions

If you can’t find an answer to your question, email learningcommons@twu.ca or drop by the Learning Commons on your campus.

On the Langley campus, you can find the Learning Commons on the main floor of the Alloway Library. The Centre for Accessible Learning Exam Centre is located on the upper floor. On the Richmond campus, the Learning Commons is located on the Lansdowne campus. Graduate Writing Coaches can be found at both Richmond locations. All appointments and most workshops are also available online.

If you are an enrolled student in even one course at TWU, you qualify! We are here for you whether you are casual studies or part-time or full-time, whether you are certificate, undergraduate, graduate, or degree completion. Two exceptions apply: LC1 is a program specifically for first-year undergraduates; Academic Advising is for undergraduates only. If you are a student in a graduate or degree completion program, see your program director or advisor for questions about your courses or registration.
It is best to make an appointment to ensure the day and time are set aside for you. However, you are also welcome to drop by without an appointment. If the person you want to meet is available, you can come right in.

All appointments are available either in-person or online. When you book an appointment, choose whether you want your session to be in-person or online.

If you miss an appointment, you will receive an automated message about missing it. After you miss three appointments, you will not be able to join, book, or change an appointment. In this situation, you will need to send a message directly to the person you booked with to discuss your situation before your account will be re-activated.
If you have any kind of academic question, big or small, or if you are facing a difficulty that is affecting your studies, we are here for you. You can drop by the Learning Commons on your campus, or you can email learningcommons@twu.ca or send a message through the Service Hub, and we will help you connect with the right person.
