This course includes literature from the early nineteenth century to the present. Students consolidate their language skills through the critical reading of literary texts and the writing of compositions and essays.

Survey courses covering selected major authors in Spanish Peninsular Literature from the Middle Ages to the present. The historic and literary context of the works is presented and the influence of Christianity as a significant force shaping both literature and culture is examined. All major genres are included from the Middle Ages to the eighteenth century.

Conducted entirely in Spanish, this course uses an historical approach to examine society and culture in Spain.
